Kanata North Coun. challenges Minto to make entire development energy neutral.

Homebuilder Minto Communities Canada unveiled their net zero energy model home in their Kanata Arcadia development on Oct. 8 – one of 25 homes planned in a cross-Canada initiative to test technologies, builders and homebuyers.

Minto implemented heating and insulation technologies as well as low energy consumption appliances to reduce its impact, while producing energy with solar panels, aiming to produce as much energy annually as will be used in a year.
