March 16, 2016
DAILY COMMERCIAL NEWS, OTTAWA—Federal parliamentary secretary Kim Rudd announced the successful implementation of the largest net-zero energy housing demonstration project in Canada on March 9.
As of spring this year, a total of 26 energy-efficient homes and condominium units have sprung up across the country in Calgary, Guelph, Ottawa, Laval and Halifax.
The nationwide project received $1.96 million through Natural Resources Canada’s ecoENERGY Innovation Initiative which has been involved in low-energy and net-zero housing research for years.
