Construction Voyer is the latest builder to bring net zero energy homes to the Canadian market. The company unveiled a six-plex in the Duvernay East community of Laval QC.
The multi-unit building is part of a national initiative with a portion of the funding coming from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan)’s ecoENERGY Innovation Initiative (ecoEII), aims to prove Net Zero Energy homes can be built cost-effectively on a community-scale, as opposed to one-off custom builds. Measured over a year, a Net Zero Energy home produces as much energy as it consumes. This project was also made possible by more than $4 million in funding and in-kind contributions from Owens Corning Canada and the building industry.
